Staying Here
No Frills Norway is an older Norwegian house overlooking the Esefjord, near Balestrand. It's well equipped for a straightforward self-catering holiday, but it isn't luxury accommodation.
There are four bedrooms, sleeping up to five people, together with a living room, kitchen and bathroom. Across the road, the house has its own shoreline, pier and boathouse.
We've been gradually renovating and improving the house since 2016, but we've deliberately kept much of its original character. If you're looking for somewhere informal, with the fjord on the doorstep, that's what we offer.

Inside the house
The living room and dining area have been gradually renovated, while other parts of the house retain much more of their original character. The house has everything needed for a straightforward self-catering stay.
Bedrooms
The house has four bedrooms, sleeping up to five people: one double room, one twin room and two single rooms. All the bedrooms have views towards the fjord, some more directly than others. There is also a spare room which provides some additional flexibility if required. If you have particular sleeping arrangements in mind, just ask when you enquire.

Kitchen
The kitchen retains much of its original character. It has an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and slow cooker, together with the usual cooking equipment, crockery and utensils.
It isn't a modern fitted kitchen, but it has what you need for preparing meals during your stay.
Bathroom
There is one bathroom, downstairs, with a shower, toilet and washbasin. The washing machine is also located here.
The bathroom is fairly basic and somewhat dated, but everything works as it should.

Practicalities
There is a washing machine and dishwasher, together with the usual kitchen equipment.
There is no television and currently no Wi-Fi at the house, but mobile coverage is good and we normally use mobile data for internet access.
The house is heated primarily by a modern wood-burning stove. Like many older houses, it can take a little while to warm up when first arriving.

There is parking space for two cars on the old road behind the houseÂ
